About The Event
SecConf, organized by Thoughtworks, aims to provide a platform to build a strong global community where security and development can come together. The platform encourages various offensive and defensive security personas to discuss best security practices that face today's modern application ecosystems. Technology is evolving fast and so are the vulnerabilities. Insecure components and supply chains are an existential threat to the industry. We seek to provide cutting edge information so you can assess your environments while building robust & secure products. We believe it's a collaboration of community and opportunity that will create a powerful impact.

F.A.Q
-
Do I have to pay for the event?
Absolutely not! It's a free event. Our mission is to provide a platform for security enthusiasts to share their knowledge, experiences, and maybe a few war stories with the wider security community. The only thing you'll pay with is your time and attention (and maybe some brain cells trying to keep up with our speakers).
-
I'm not from a security background, can I attend?
Absolutely! We welcome everyone with open arms. Whether you're a security expert, a curious developer, or just someone who wants to understand why their password "password123" isn't cutting it anymore, there will be valuable insights for everyone. Our speakers are experts at making complex security concepts accessible to all levels.
-
Is registration mandatory?
Yes, registration is mandatory. We need to know who's coming so we can prepare enough coffee, snacks, and name tags. Plus, it helps us plan the seating arrangement and ensure we don't exceed venue capacity. Think of it as RSVP-ing to a really nerdy party where the dress code is "bring your laptop and your curiosity."
-
What should I bring to the event?
Bring your enthusiasm, a notebook (digital or analog), and your best listening ears. We'll provide coffee, snacks, and enough security knowledge to make your head spin (in a good way). Oh, and don't forget your ID for check-in!
-
What's the event format and duration?
This is a half-day tech talk featuring multiple sessions, networking breaks, and interactive discussions. The event will run for approximately 4-5 hours, including coffee breaks where you can network with fellow security enthusiasts and speakers. Think of it as a concentrated dose of security wisdom with built-in social time.
-
Will travel allowances be provided?
Unfortunately, no travel allowances will be provided. This is a community-driven event, and participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses. However, we promise the knowledge you'll gain will be worth every penny of your travel costs (and then some).
-
Can students attend this event?
Absolutely! Students are more than welcome. This is a great opportunity for students to learn from industry professionals, understand real-world security challenges, and network with potential mentors. Whether you're studying computer science, cybersecurity, or just have a passion for security, you'll find valuable insights here. Don't forget to bring your student ID!
-
I work for a different organization, can I attend?
Of course! This event is open to professionals from all organizations and industries. Security is a universal concern, and we believe in sharing knowledge across organizational boundaries. Whether you're from a startup, enterprise, government, or non-profit, you're welcome to join us and contribute to the discussion.
-
Will there be networking opportunities?
Absolutely! Networking is a key part of the event. We've built in dedicated breaks for you to connect with speakers, fellow attendees, and industry professionals. It's the perfect opportunity to discuss the latest security trends, share war stories, or simply make new friends who understand your passion for cybersecurity.
-
Will I receive any materials or recordings after the event?
Yes! We'll share presentation slides, session recordings, and additional resources after the event via email to all registered attendees. While we don't provide certificates, you'll have access to all the valuable content and our network of security professionals for ongoing learning and collaboration opportunities.
-
Can I ask questions during the sessions?
Absolutely! We encourage active participation and questions. Each session will have dedicated Q&A time, and speakers are always happy to engage with the audience. Don't be shy - if you have a question, chances are others are thinking the same thing. The best learning happens through dialogue!
-
Will lunch be provided at the event?
Yes! We're excited to provide lunch for all registered attendees. The lunch break is scheduled at 1:30 PM, giving you the perfect opportunity to refuel and continue networking with fellow security professionals.
